The Path of Fallen Dreams

I was walking along the path of fallen dreams Looking for pieces of my broken heart Guided by the light of lost moonbeams Shortly after my whole world fell apart
I came upon a crystal sea of tears Surrounded by a mountain of dark misery Then silently I reflected upon those years And how happy with you darling I used to be!
There echoed a thousand wishes on a star And the many promises never made to keep As I sat there sadly wondering where you are I hung my head, and sobbingly began to weep
Then I slowly rose, and continued on my way Searching for sweet memories of our past Hoping that somehow, somewhere, someday You and I would be together again at last!

I woke up this morning, and I knew! Yet nothing had been said! Before the say was over we were through And into the night I'd fled!
The night; that darkness! What fright; such starkness! The cold uncaring night! That's where I took my flight!

When out of sleep comes death Beware these darkened ladies! The cold kiss on their breath True evidence from Hades!
Though ashes no longer fresh Satan still tends his fire! Prisoners of the flesh! Immortal desire!

Hollow dispirited eyes echo their vulnerability Aberrant flowers of his youth wither in the shadows
This cross he bears will only save himself with sweet death! Why have thou forsaken him?

As winter approaches Like forgotten fruit hanging on a tree Me! But what small bird is that at this seemingly late hour? So eager to devour what was spring's passion Not now a full ration No feast! To say the least! As night reproaches!

Far barren than the desert sand This abyss thou hast crossed To come into my desolate land Ye weary traveler lost!
Blown hither by some adverse wind! No god ordained thy fate! With deep regret, my words portend Turn back ere it's too late!
Take yonder way and hasten Most dearly revered child! Tho, seeming now to chasten! I save you being defiled!
