Don't mourn for me when I am dead
Know in your heart twas for the best
And but a willing soul that fled
In search of some dark place to rest
Now I've grown weary of this place!
My troubled heart cannot deny
The truth that's written on each face
That dare deceive me with a lie
Wouldst I be burdened with that fate?
Have I not seen too much to save
When turning back would appear too late
My only hope now seems the grave!
Cold earth to cover burning eyes
That lost their innocence of youth
When vile deceit and wretched lies
Could pose no longer as the truth!

Went jauntily seeking truth!
How now this weary fugitive
Limping woefully in retreat?
Whilst well-intentioned lies outlive
The truth of truth's defeat!
