“There’s a big movement toward outdoor weddings, ” says Jennifer Cegielski, content director for The Knot, the wedding web site that offers brides-to-be real-world advice on every aspect of their big day. Particularly popular these days, she notes, are destination weddings. “Brides are packing up their family and friends and heading to Puerto Rico or the Caribbean to get married, ” she relates. “When you’re in a vacation setting, you end up with a more casual, chic look rather than a traditional bridal look. People are also branching out more in terms of the time of day, so a daytime affair is going to be more casual than an evening wedding.”
